An open flame feature for a bespoke interior
The FOCO Myst Free 1200 is an open base-frame insert for a bespoke fireplace project. Its low black steel tray lets the flame effect be enjoyed from all four sides, without an upper plate, back panel or side walls. Recess the cassette into a purpose-built structure to create a restrained architectural centrepiece.
This configuration includes the Dimplex Opti-myst Cassette 1000 Retail with manual water refilling. LED light illuminates a fine water mist to produce the flame effect without burning fuel. There is no heat output, so this is an atmospheric feature rather than a room heater. The remote control allows convenient operation and adjustment of the flame effect.
Included configuration
- FOCO Myst Free 1200 open base frame; no top frame.
- Dimplex Cassette 1000 Retail manual-refill water-vapour insert.
- Black base plates and frame assembly fittings.
- Four low tempered-glass panels and eight glass holders.
- Remote control, 1.5 m power cable and operating documentation.
The automatic mains-water-connected Projects cassette, decorative logs, ventilation grilles, structural fixings and surrounding construction are not included. This is a built-in insert, not a complete freestanding fireplace or finished media wall.

Installation and care
Provide a stable, level support for the cassette and a minimum 400 mm clear space above it for the vapour to develop. The installation needs at least 420 cm² of free ventilation below the cassette, with unrestricted airflow to the unit. A grille reduces free area, so its overall opening may need to be larger. Keep access for manual refilling, cleaning and servicing.
The tray must be recessed into a suitable fixed, supported structure; the exposed service cassette is not intended to stand on a coffee table. Follow the FOCO installation guide and Dimplex manual for the exact recess, cassette supports, fixings and electrical connection. Frame footprint dimensions are not finished opening or cut-out instructions. No chimney or flue is required, but an electrical supply and the specified ventilation are essential.
Fill and maintain the water system as directed in the operating manual. Clean the tank, sump and transducer at the prescribed intervals; do not add fragrance or unapproved substances. Disconnect the electrical supply before maintenance. Installation, electrical work, cladding and structural building work are not included.
